This would be one of my whim project Impressions. It's also my "WWII" BLU Medic from Team Fortress 2, for costume purposes-- the last one I've completed out of the new group.
It is a Luftwaffe (German Air Force) Private-purchase style Medical Officer's uniform, rank of Leutnant. The all-white uniform is a summer dress uniform for offizier.
Due to the nature of the all-white dress uniforms and their necessity to be cleaned often, the shoulder epaulets are slip-on, the collar tabs are attached by sets of four snaps, the eagle on the breast is of the pin-on type, and all of the buttons are fixed to the tunic through eyeholes with removable s-hook style rings. That way, all of the components can be easily removed for cleaning.
This impression/cosplay was put together by me from various patches, insignia, and components found on places like Hessen, Antique shops, and eBay. All the sewing was done by me, without a machine-- along with several replacements, upgrades, and tailoring-- after putting together historical references from original photos, research online and in various books I have on the subject.
The Regular German Army (Heer, which is signified by the type of insignia sewn to the jacket) as well as the Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine, was forbidden by Hitler to be members of the NSDAP (Nazi Party, which was the organization affiliated with the conduction of war-crimes.) Rest easy, Hetalians and other cosplayers. A swastika does not a Nazi uniform make.
